Enable Experimental Functionality

On the Disclosure Management website, Admin users can turn on specific experimental functionality via the Labs feature, which is a customer-facing early access management system that enables Disclosure Management to grant controlled access to beta and experimental functionality.

The Labs feature leverages access code validation to provide selective customers and partners with early exposure to features under development. It serves the following purposes:

  • Grant early access to beta functionality for validated customers and partners.
  • Collect user feedback on features still in active development.
  • Support collaborative partnerships with select customers willing to test and validate new capabilities.
  • Provide a controlled path for feature maturation from beta to general availability (GA).

Unlock an Experimental Functionality

  1. Click Settings in the left navigation bar of the Disclosure Management website. The In the Labs page displays.

  2. In the search box, type a valid access code. The access codes are tenant-specific and non-transferable.You can only get them from your customer success contact.
  3. Submit the code for validation. Once verified, the corresponding feature appears in the feature list.
  4. Use the toggle switch to enable the feature. When a feature is enabled, it is available at the application level, meaning it is available across all workspaces within a tenant.

Feature States

The lab features progress through defined states as they mature. Each state determines visibility, default behavior, and administrator controls.

Beta State

Features in beta are:

  • Displayed in the In the Labs page with a Beta label.
  • Only accessible to customers who have redeemed the corresponding access code.
  • Disabled by default at the application level.
  • Controllable by administrators (enable/disable).

Generally Available (GA) State

When a feature transitions to GA status, the following changes occur:

  • A GA label is displayed next to the feature name.
  • The feature is enabled by default at the application level.
  • Administrator disable controls are removed (feature cannot be turned off).
  • The feature remains accessible via the In the Labs page during the final release cycle.

Post-Release Removal

Once a feature has reached GA status and the next major release is deployed:

  • The feature is removed from the In the Labs page entirely.
  • The feature becomes a standard, integrated part of the product.
  • Users access the feature through normal product interfaces, not via labs settings.
